Frequently asked questions
- Where can I park?
- There's no car park at the restaurant, but several pay-and-display car parks are close by: St Albans Abbey Station and Westminster Lodge are both just off Holywell Hill, and there's on-street pay-and-display on Holywell Hill itself. NCP London Road and NCP Bricket Road are a short walk further into town.
- How do I get there by train?
- We're about a 15-minute walk from St Albans City station and a 10-minute walk from St Albans Abbey station.
- Is the restaurant accessible?
- Our entrance is step-free, and our ground-floor Medina Room and accessible toilet are step-free too. The upstairs Pomegranate Garden room is reached by a staircase only, with no lift. If you have any access needs, let us know when you book and we'll look after you on the ground floor.
- Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
- Yes. Looking after dietary needs is something we take real pride in. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes, lots of gluten-free options (we keep a dedicated gluten-free fryer), and every dish on the menu is tagged for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and nuts. All our meat is halal, sourced from a halal butcher, and we cook no pork. Please tell your server about any allergies. We keep a full allergen matrix for every dish.
- Is your meat halal?
- Yes. All our meat is halal, sourced from a trusted halal butcher, and we don't cook or serve any pork.
- Are children welcome?
- Very. Little ones are always welcome. We have high chairs and child-friendly dishes on the menu.
- Can I bring my dog?
- Assistance and guide dogs are always welcome. We're not able to accommodate other dogs inside.
- Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
- Walk-ins are welcome whenever we have a table free. To be sure of a spot it's best to book online. For groups of more than six we ask for a £10-per-head deposit to secure the booking.
- Do you offer takeaway or delivery?
- You can order for delivery through Deliveroo. For larger event catering we also deliver across Hertfordshire and north Barnet. Just get in touch. We don't currently offer collection.
- Can I hire a private room for an event?
- Yes. Our upstairs room, The Pomegranate Garden, seats up to 40 for private parties and events, with sharing set menus from £40 per head. See our private hire page for details.
- Is there a lunch menu?
- Yes. We serve a lunch menu alongside the main à la carte.
- Is there a dress code or service charge?
- There's no dress code and no service charge, and there's no outdoor seating.
- Do you sell gift vouchers?
- Not at the moment.
